Hammam is a woven fabric that has evolved from the historical Turkish hammam bath tradition going back 600 years. They were widely used as a wrap when men and women in the Ottoman era were washing in the public hammam baths to cover their bodies. Now, they have moved beyond the boundaries of hammam and have become trendy bath, beach, and travel towels high in demand. In the UK, they are commonly known as Hammam Towels and in Turkey they are known as Peshtemal towels.
Hammam towels have a very distinctive stripy pattern with hand-finished tassels on the fringes which give them a truly authentic character. Cotton and Olive hammam towels are 100% pure cotton. Linen and cotton blends are also sought-after. The average size of the hammam bath sheet is 90 x 180 cm and the hand towel is 50 x 90 cm. And the average weight is 250-300 grams. Proper care for your towels will prolong their life and keep them in top condition for years
It is recommended to wash this product at a gentle cycle programme, max 40C. It is important to wash it at a low-spin program to protect the tassels
Try not to use the fabric conditioner
We don’t recommend tumble-drying. If it is preferred for the sake of convenience, we only recommend low-heat tumble-drying. The best practice is to leave it to air-dry. It is much better for the environment as well as for your energy bills
Keep them away from strong, direct heat while drying
